Event Date: Friday, April 5, 2024

Celebrate Earth Month at Oxy and join the Moore Lab of Zoology and Vantuna Research Group for a natural history collection open house!

Natural history collections offer a wealth of information. They serve as a place to view and discover nature, explore the histories of the specimens or a collection of species, and inspire scientific questions that are significant to conservation.

Take a self-guided, exploratory tour of the world's largest Mexican bird collection and a fish collection that was founded in the 70s. All ages welcome.

When: Friday, April 5, 10AM to 12PM* / RSVP on Eventbrite

Where: Moore Laboratory of Zoology & Vantuna Research Group on Bird Road at Occidental College

*Coffee & refreshments will be served, while quantities last. Reduce waste and bring a reusable mug.

Parking & Directions

Street parking is available all along Campus Road (Oxy parking spaces are reserved for permit parking only). The collections, located in the same building, are closest to the entrance at the Armadale Avenue & Campus Road intersection. From there it's a five minute walk, head north on American Way, right on Weller Road, left on Bird Road and continue under the overhead walkway to make a direct right up the hill.

Moore Lab can be found on Google Maps (GPS of the entrance is 34.126642, -118.210054) and visit here to access a campus map.
